About the Role

We are seeking an Electrical Assistant (Shipboard) remote to join our team at The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. In this role, you will support the electro-technical officers with repairs, maintenance, and modifications of all onboard electrical equipment, ensuring the comfort of our guests and the highest standards of safety and service.

What You'll Do

  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of electrical systems onboard, ensuring uninterrupted service as advised by the electro-technical officers.
  • Carry out basic electrical repairs related to galley and laundry equipment, portable electrical equipment, and motor replacements.
  • Conduct elevator inspections under the supervision of the Electro-Technical Officer, prioritizing safety and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Resolve guest complaints swiftly and coordinate follow-ups with the Third Electro-Technical Officer and hotel departments.
  • Inspect public and service spaces regularly for failed light bulbs or damaged switches, ensuring prompt replacements.
  • Install new equipment and cables, assisting with yacht modifications as necessary.
  • Maintain inventory of electrical stock and consumables as directed by the electro-technical officers.

Requirements

  • All required STCW certificates of proficiency relevant to the position.
  • At least three (3) years of experience on a cruise vessel in a similar role.
  • Certification of vocational training as a professional electrician.
  • Strong command of the English language.
  • Exceptional knowledge of modern luxury shipboard equipment and systems.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with advanced electrical systems on luxury yachts.
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance standards.
  • Previous experience in guest service roles.
