About the Role
We are seeking a DevOps Lead Engineer to join our team at Pacific Life. This role is pivotal in enhancing our software delivery processes and improving overall service quality. As a DevOps Lead Engineer, you will lead a team of DevOps engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the adoption of DevOps practices. This position is located in Charlotte, NC, and offers the opportunity for relocation assistance.
What You'll Do
- Define and implement the DevSecOps strategy, best practices, and standards for the organization.
- Design and implement robust CI/CD pipelines to automate software deployment, testing, and monitoring.
- Manage infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or Ansible to ensure scalability and reliability.
- Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively identify and resolve performance issues.
- Collaborate with security teams to enforce security best practices and ensure compliance.
- Implement ITIL best practices to improve service delivery and incident management.
- Foster collaboration between development and operations teams, promoting a culture of shared responsibility.
- Continuously evaluate and improve service delivery, identifying areas for optimization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in STEM and a minimum of 8+ years of experience in a DevOps Engineering role.
- Experience with Mulesoft and automated software build, test, and deployment processes.
- Strong expertise in CI/CD pipelines, automation, Terraform, Python, and IaC.
- Proficiency with DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git, and Ansible.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and monitoring platforms (Grafana, Splunk).
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are a plus.
Nice to Have
- Experience in the workforce benefits and/or insurance industries.
- Knowledge of ITIL framework primarily in Service Transition and Service Operations.
