DevOps Lead Engineer - Transforming IT Operations

About the Role

We are seeking a DevOps Lead Engineer to join our team at Pacific Life. This role is pivotal in enhancing our software delivery processes and improving overall service quality. As a DevOps Lead Engineer, you will lead a team of DevOps engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the adoption of DevOps practices. This position is located in Charlotte, NC, and offers the opportunity for relocation assistance.

What You'll Do

• Define and implement the DevSecOps strategy, best practices, and standards for the organization.
• Design and implement robust CI/CD pipelines to automate software deployment, testing, and monitoring.
• Manage infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or Ansible to ensure scalability and reliability.
• Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively identify and resolve performance issues.
• Collaborate with security teams to enforce security best practices and ensure compliance.
• Implement ITIL best practices to improve service delivery and incident management.
• Foster collaboration between development and operations teams, promoting a culture of shared responsibility.
• Continuously evaluate and improve service delivery, identifying areas for optimization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in STEM and a minimum of 8+ years of experience in a DevOps Engineering role.
• Experience with Mulesoft and automated software build, test, and deployment processes.
• Strong expertise in CI/CD pipelines, automation, Terraform, Python, and IaC.
• Proficiency with DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git, and Ansible.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and monitoring platforms (Grafana, Splunk).
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are a plus.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the workforce benefits and/or insurance industries.
• Knowledge of ITIL framework primarily in Service Transition and Service Operations.
