What You'll Do
- Build and maintain high-performance data pipelines that ensure the reliability and scalability of Kraken's data infrastructure.
- Architect the future of Kraken’s data ecosystem, enabling teams across the company to access clean, consistent, and timely data.
- Develop scalable and reliable data pipelines that collect, transform, load, and curate data from both internal and external systems.
- Drive data systems to operate as near real-time as possible, ensuring high data quality and auditability.
- Support the design and deployment of a distributed data store that will serve as the central source of truth across the organization.
- Evaluate new technologies and build prototypes for continuous improvements in data engineering.
- Collaborate with teams to develop self-service tools that help data consumers extract and analyze data from our massive internal data store.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or software engineering.
- Proficiency in data-lake and data-warehousing technologies, with experience in tools like Presto, Athena, and Glue.
- Strong programming skills in Python and Scala; additional languages are a plus.
- Experience building data pipelines and ETL processes using Airflow.
- Excellent SQL and data manipulation skills, with familiarity in frameworks like Spark/PySpark.
- Expertise in Apache Spark or similar Big Data technologies, with a proven track record of processing high volumes of data.
- Experience with business requirements gathering for data sourcing.
- Bonus: Familiarity with Kafka and other streaming technologies like Apache Flink.
