Cyber Security Analyst II - Security Engineering (Remote)
About the Role
We are looking for a Cyber Security Analyst II - Security Engineering (Remote) to join our team at Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS). In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the security of our systems and networks while working in a collaborative environment. You will be responsible for performing Cyber Security operations within the enterprise environment, contributing to the overall mission of protecting the United States and its allies.
What You'll Do
- Assist in researching, compiling, and analyzing technical data related to Cyber Security.
- Support incident response and forensics, collaborating with the incident response team as needed.
- Validate the functionality of security tools and assist in the design and deployment of security infrastructure capabilities.
- Conduct Cyber Security policy compliance tasks, including discovering unauthorized devices and ensuring network access requirements are met.
- Scan network devices for vulnerabilities and configuration baseline compliance, reporting findings to the team.
- Monitor intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) and Security Event and Incident Management (SEIM) tools for security issues.
- Identify, report, and assist in the remediation of Cyber Security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Contribute to a productive and respectful work environment by providing excellent customer service.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a computer-related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in IT or Cyber Security.
- Professional certifications such as MCSA, SSCP, CISM, CCENT, GSEC, VCP, CCT, and CEH are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated understanding of Cyber Security principles, standards, and protocols.
- Familiarity with Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems, as well as network protocols and packet capture analysis tools like WireShark.
- Ability to use network scanning and vulnerability tools effectively.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to meet physical requirements necessary to perform all assigned duties safely and effectively.
Nice to Have
- Experience with encryption technologies and identity/authentication technologies.
- Knowledge of network-based services and client/server applications.
- Experience with intrusion detection systems and security infrastructure placement.
