Corporate Development Associate - Remote Position at Kraken

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Corporate Development Associate to join our fully remote team at Kraken. As a Corporate Development Associate, you will play a crucial role in driving our mergers and acquisitions (M&A) strategy, helping to accelerate the global adoption of crypto. This position is an exciting opportunity to work with a world-class team dedicated to unlocking the potential of crypto and blockchain technology.

What You'll Do

• Drive M&A strategy to foster growth and expansion.
• Identify, source, and engage with acquisition prospects actively.
• Manage acquisition assessments and collaborate with cross-functional diligence teams, including product, engineering, finance, legal, and marketing.
• Negotiate purchase structures and deal terms effectively.
• Build financial models to support valuation and write investment memos for senior leadership.
• Establish key benchmarks for post-integration planning.
• Become an industry expert on the crypto/blockchain sector and represent Kraken at select industry events.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Management, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, strategy consulting, private equity, or venture capital.
• Experience in the cryptocurrency/blockchain industry or financial institutions.
• Proficiency in building financial models, including DCF models and statistical models.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Experience in financial analysis, evaluating business models, and assessing growth potential.
• Ability to conduct strategic research on market trends and competitive dynamics.
• Experience in drafting high-quality deal memos and strategic presentations.

Nice to Have

• Experience presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional partners across finance, legal, product, and operations teams.
