Content Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Remote Contract Role

About the Role

We are seeking a Content Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Remote to join our innovative team at OneOcean. As a leader in maritime education and compliance, this role offers you the opportunity to leverage your extensive experience in maritime training and regulation to create impactful content for our digital learning platforms.

What You'll Do

• Monitor industry regulations and best practices to ensure our content remains up-to-date and relevant.
• Write and update content for our digital learning and assessment products, ensuring clarity and compliance with maritime standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the company to define and prioritize product initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction.
• Engage with clients and internal teams to gather feedback on content, driving continuous improvement through Quality Assurance processes.
• Participate in content reviews to ensure accuracy and sector-specific relevance.
• Contribute to the maintenance of the Impact Report, communicating requirements for timely roadmap scheduling.
• Advise on queries regarding learning and assessment compliance, regulations, and content.
• Deliver mentoring and training to maritime professionals, enhancing their understanding of complex regulatory topics.

Requirements

• Qualified at least to Chief Officer (II/2) or 2nd Engineer (III/2) – Unlimited, or possess a degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Regulatory or Operational Ship Management role.
• Proven experience in a maritime educational role or maritime professional shore role.
• Professional English proficiency in writing and text review.
• Expert knowledge of maritime regulatory and training requirements for vessel operations.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex topics clearly.
• Ability to work remotely and as part of a team.
• IT literacy with Microsoft Suite and experience with a wide range of software/digital platforms.

Nice to Have

• Audit experience (ISM or ISO Standards).
• Experience in mentoring, assessment, and training of maritime professionals.
