Content Engineer - AI-Driven Infrastructure
About the Role
We’re seeking a Content Engineer to own the technical foundation that makes our content findable, structured, and citable across AI-driven platforms. This Content Engineer remote role bridges marketing and engineering, ensuring that our content infrastructure is scalable, reliable, and optimized for AI-driven discovery (e.g., ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews). You will maintain and enhance the systems that distribute and structure our content for LLM platforms, directly influencing visibility and authority in the next generation of search.
What You'll Do
- Maintain and optimize our AI content infrastructure, including JSONL feeds, chunking strategy, vector databases, and public APIs.
- Design scalable workflows to analyze and process large sets of URLs efficiently (batch and incremental approaches).
- Balance cost, performance, and quality when working with LLM and API-based systems.
- Ensure systems are reliable, versioned, and reproducible.
- Partner with the AEO Content Lead to audit and refine content quality for LLM extraction.
- Maintain and evolve our entity taxonomy and structured data strategy.
- Design extractable content formats across different asset types.
- Support analysis of content overlap and consolidation opportunities using structured methods.
Requirements
- 3+ years in a technical role bridging content and engineering (e.g., SEO Engineer, Growth Engineer, Content Systems Engineer).
- Proficiency with APIs and data formats (JSONL, REST, webhooks).
- Experience with vector databases and embeddings (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma).
- Scripting ability in Python or JavaScript.
- Solid understanding of schema.org and structured data principles.
- Experience working with data analysis tools (SQL, GA4, Looker, or similar).
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools or equivalent programmatic workflow design.
Nice to Have
- Experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity).
- Familiarity with healthcare compliance (HIPAA).
