About the Role

We are seeking a talented Compliance Geofencing Controls SME to join our team at Binance, the world’s leading blockchain ecosystem. This remote position offers you the chance to work with a global leader in the cryptocurrency exchange space, trusted by over 280 million users worldwide. As a Compliance Geofencing Controls SME, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with geolocation sanctions regulations while leveraging advanced technologies like AI/ML.

What You'll Do

• Own the product lifecycle for geolocation sanctions compliance tools, from ideation to continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with compliance and legal teams to translate regulations into functional specifications for sanctions screening solutions.
• Design and implement IP-based controls such as geofencing and monitoring alerts to prevent interactions with sanctioned countries.
• Partner with engineering and data science teams to enhance detection capabilities and reduce false positives using AI/ML.
• Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for geolocation-based sanctions controls and jurisdictional risk.
• Provide guidance during regulatory exams, internal audits, and policy reviews regarding geolocation sanctions.
• Maintain knowledge of evolving global sanctions frameworks and assess geopolitical impacts on enforcement strategies.
• Deliver internal training on best practices related to sanctions evasion techniques and mitigation strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 4+ years of product management experience, preferably in compliance or fintech.
• Strong understanding of international sanctions regimes (e.g., OFAC, UN, EU, UK sanctions).
• Experience with AML, KYC, or sanctions compliance teams is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with compliance technology solutions, including sanctions screening systems.
• Technical aptitude with experience collaborating with engineering and data teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the crypto, fintech, or cross-border payments industry.
• Certifications such as CAMS, CGSS, or Certified Sanctions Specialist (CSS).
• Exposure to blockchain analytics tools (e.g., Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic).
• Understanding of network security principles related to location detection.
