About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Therapist to join our Schools Plus Mental Health initiative. This role focuses on providing mental health services in a school environment, making a significant impact on the lives of children and adolescents. As a Clinical Therapist, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working collaboratively to deliver comprehensive mental health support.

What You'll Do

  • Provide individual and group therapy to students, focusing on early identification and intervention for mental health disorders.
  • Collaborate with families and school staff to develop and implement care plans that are sensitive to the needs of each child.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine the mental health needs of students.
  • Act as a liaison between the school, families, and mental health services to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in the planning, development, and evaluation of mental health services within the Schools Plus framework.
  • Utilize evidence-informed therapies to address mental illness, substance use disorders, and concurrent disorders.
  • Engage in crisis intervention and risk assessment as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided and outcomes achieved.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a clinical health-related discipline (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Counseling).
  • Current registration with the relevant provincial regulatory body.
  • A minimum of two years of clinical experience in mental health settings.
  • Knowledge of DSM V criteria for mental health disorders.
  • Experience in providing evidence-informed therapies and crisis intervention.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in multiple software applications.
  • Competencies in additional languages, particularly French, are an asset.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in school settings or with children and adolescents.
  • Familiarity with community resources and programs.
  • Skills in conflict resolution and problem-solving.
