About the Role

We are looking for a talented Camera Operator/Editor to join our dynamic team at Paramount, where you will have the opportunity to work remotely while contributing to our news division. As a Camera Operator/Editor, you will play a crucial role in news gathering, production, and storytelling, ensuring our audience receives the latest updates from Queensland.

What You'll Do

  • Operate broadcast cameras and lighting equipment to capture high-quality footage for news segments.
  • Edit video content to create engaging stories that resonate with our audience.
  • Collaborate with the news team to ensure smooth live broadcasts and effective communication during shoots.
  • Utilize liveU and Dejero Streaming units for live cross procedures.
  • Work under tight deadlines and adapt to the fast-paced demands of the news industry.
  • Engage with peers and supervisors to enhance the quality of production.
  • Travel as needed for news assignments, both domestically and internationally.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule, including weekends and weekdays as part of a roster cycle.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Camera Operator/Editor in a news or production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of editing principles and video composition.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and direct shoots when necessary.
  • Proficient in problem-solving and navigating challenges in a fast-paced setting.
  • Current full Queensland driver’s license.
  • Motivated self-starter with a flexible approach to work patterns.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with various camera equipment and editing software.
  • Familiarity with visual storytelling techniques.
  • Background in working with diverse teams and engaging with the public.
