Blockchain Security Software Engineer - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Blockchain Security Software Engineer to join our Hexagate team at Chainalysis. As a Blockchain Security Software Engineer remote, you will tackle some of the hardest technical challenges in the blockchain space, creating products that build trust in cryptocurrencies. What You'll Do

• Track real threats by analyzing active attack patterns such as wallet compromises and phishing-driven drains.
• Build detections by transforming attacker behavior into monitors using our internal monitoring language (DSL).
• Validate and tune detection systems to measure precision and recall, while reducing false positives.
• Operationalize detections by collaborating with engineers to safely ship detections into production.
• Drive coverage by identifying gaps in detection logic and proposing new signals across chains and assets.
• Partner closely with product and engineering teams to align detections with customer workflows and response actions.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of blockchain fundamentals, including transactions, token standards, and common attacker playbooks.
• Experience in an adversarial domain such as security or fraud, with the ability to reason about evasive behavior.
• Proficiency in Python and comfort working with data for analysis and queries.
• Clear communication and strong collaboration skills.
• Ability to translate threat stories into production-ready detections.

Nice to Have

• Experience investigating on-chain incidents or building detection rules.
• Familiarity with anomaly detection and statistical modeling.
• Experience with real-time pipelines or streaming systems.
