Backend PHP Engineer - Remote Position

About the Role

We are seeking a Backend PHP Engineer to join our dynamic team. This remote position offers the opportunity to work on exciting backend and platform initiatives while collaborating with distributed teams. As a Backend PHP Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building and supporting production systems, making this an ideal role for someone who thrives in a hands-on engineering environment.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using PHP (Laravel).
• Collaborate with offshore and distributed engineering teams to ensure clear requirements and task execution.
• Build and support third-party integrations with platforms such as Boberdoo, Five9, Zoho, and Twilio.
• Review offshore deliverables for quality, completeness, and alignment with standards.
• Evaluate backend implementations for correctness, performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Requirements

• 4–6 years of professional PHP backend development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Laravel or Laravel-based systems.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and supporting third-party integrations.
• Proficiency with relational databases such as MySQL, MSSQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Strong debugging skills and comfort working in production systems.
• Experience collaborating with offshore or distributed engineering teams.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure).
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker).
