Associate Director of SOX Controls and Compliance - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director of SOX Controls and Compliance - Remote to join our dynamic team at Organon. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining our Global Controls Framework and ensuring SOX compliance across our organization. You will work closely with senior leadership and various divisions, providing guidance on compliance matters and enhancing our internal controls.

What You'll Do

  • Provide financial compliance support globally and ensure adherence to the Company’s global internal controls framework.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in the Internal Control Solution (AuditBoard), overseeing security access requests, process enhancements, testing, custom reporting, and issue resolution.
  • Partner with business process owners to assess risks, design controls, and develop remediation plans for global trends.
  • Support control-related projects aimed at standardizing, optimizing, and automating control execution.
  • Address segregation of duties issues for SAP users and provide SOX compliance education and training.
  • Interact directly with internal and external audits on compliance topics and escalate control issues for resolution.
  • Provide financial compliance expertise in support of business development transactions and system implementations.
  • Maintain the Grant of Authority (GoA) system and tools, serving as the point of contact for GoA inquiries.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Accounting; M.B.A. and/or C.P.A. is a plus.
  • Seven years or more of experience in financial, accounting, or compliance/SOX 404 roles.
  • Strong technology proficiency and experience with compliance tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Experience in the healthcare industry or related fields.
  • Familiarity with international compliance standards.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial systems and controls.
