About the Role

We are seeking an AI Platform Infrastructure Engineer to join our innovative team at HartleyCo. This role offers a unique opportunity to work remotely while contributing to a cutting-edge AI platform that is transforming a $900B industry. As an AI Platform Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and building the infrastructure that enables our AI agents to perform at their best.

What You'll Do

  • Enhance our in-house AI Grid platform by integrating ETL pipelines with LLM orchestration.
  • Build evaluation systems using human-annotated datasets for model fine-tuning (SFT/RL).
  • Develop ML models for reasoning engines, load balancing, and market-making systems.
  • Architect robust data pipelines that feed into multiple destinations, including vector DBs and analytics systems.
  • Implement MCP servers to connect agents with tools and persistent memory.
  • Create voice AI systems for various use cases, including customer service.
  • Integrate payment providers and financial systems directly into our platform.
  • Collaborate closely with forward-deployed engineers to ensure significant business impact.

Requirements

  • Strong background in distributed systems, AI agents, and modern data engineering.
  • Proven experience in TypeScript/Node.js and Python.
  • Track record of building production ML infrastructure and orchestration systems.
  • Experience with MCP protocols, vector DBs, and retrieval-augmented generation.
  • Familiarity with voice AI architecture and real-time processing systems.
  • A bias toward action, with a focus on fast shipping and continuous improvement.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Databricks, Astronomer, and Temporal.io.
  • Familiarity with Redis Streams, PostgreSQL, and ClickHouse.
