About the Role

We are seeking a Treasury Assistant to join our dynamic team at Transport UK Group. This Treasury Assistant remote position will involve performing essential treasury functions and banking duties for our internal and external clients. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes and contribute to the overall success of our organization.

What You'll Do

  • Handle a full suite of banking duties, including providing up-to-date account and balance information.
  • Ensure appropriate approvals are received for payments and set up required payments.
  • Post all cashbook transactions and correspond with third parties as needed.
  • Assist in resolving data queries from banking providers and ensure timely resolution of banking queries.
  • Support the completion of monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and process journals as required.
  • Process credit card expense transactions periodically and assist with financial period-end closing and reporting.
  • Engage in process improvement initiatives to enhance control processes within the finance function.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of GDPR regulations and UK Accounting Framework basics.

Requirements

  • Numerically and IT literate with intermediate MS Office skills, particularly in MS Excel (vlookup, sumif, pivot tables).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in a Finance Department and knowledge of treasury and banking functions.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours when necessary and cope with peak workloads and deadlines.
  • Desirable experience with Open Accounts/EBis.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a similar role within a finance or treasury department.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and processes.
