Senior Software Development Manager - Engagement Growth

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Development Manager to join our team at Twitch, the world’s biggest live streaming service. This Senior Software Development Manager remote position is perfect for someone passionate about community engagement and technology. You will lead a team focused on enhancing viewer engagement through innovative solutions.

What You'll Do

• Build the systems that provide the critical connection between viewers and creators within the Twitch ecosystem.
• Design and run consumer-scale services powering VODs, Clips, and Stories for millions of daily users.
• Power and enable AWS applications at scale.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Data teams to create seamless user experiences.
• Drive the professional growth and career advancement of team members through structured development planning and mentorship.
• Develop a long-term roadmap and set direction for a team of 10 engineers.

Requirements

• BA/BS in computer science or equivalent industry experience.
• 3+ years of experience as a software engineering manager.
• 5+ years of working in software engineering.
• Development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages such as Golang, Python, C/C++, or Java.
• Experience designing or architecting systems for reliability and scalability.
• Proven ability to identify user needs and deliver customer-centric product solutions.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with the AWS ecosystem of services.
• Experience utilizing Agile development methodologies.
• Experience in hiring, mentoring, and managing teams of software engineers.
• Deep knowledge of Golang.
• Familiarity with Twitch, either as a viewer or creator.
