About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to join our team at Rovio Entertainment. This remote position offers a unique opportunity to work on the iconic Angry Birds franchise, specifically on the successful live game, Angry Birds Friends. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to ensuring a high-quality player experience through robust testing and tooling solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Design, implement, and maintain tools for manual and automated testing of game features in Unity.
  • Own the full lifecycle of testing tooling, from technical design and feasibility assessment to implementation, documentation, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure high code quality, usability, and scalability of the tools you develop.
  • Support the team in reaching project goals by improving testing efficiency, stability, and processes.
  • Mentor less experienced team members and share best practices across the studio.
  • Collaborate actively with developers, QA, and other disciplines to raise overall quality standards.

Requirements

  • Solid programming skills in C#, with a strong foundation in software engineering.
  • Proven experience in test automation and tool development, ideally in Unity-based environments.
  • Good understanding of software architecture, clean code practices, and CI systems (e.g., Jenkins).
  • Experience with testing frameworks, agile development methods, and mobile platforms.
  • Ability to evaluate technical feasibility, estimate work, identify risks, and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, proactive mindset.
  • Solid professional experience in software development, testing, or tools engineering.

Nice to Have

  • Experience developing workflows using AI-assisted tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude, MCP, automation agents).
  • Knowledge of Unity UI Toolkit.
  • Background in game development or live service environments.
