Senior Linux Systems Engineer - Remote Opportunity

We are excited to announce an opening for a Senior Linux Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team at Arsys. This Senior Linux Systems Engineer remote position offers a unique opportunity to work with a leading Spanish IT company that has over 25 years of experience in providing technological solutions. What You'll Do

• Operate and maintain Linux-based infrastructure environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues in production environments.
• Support and diagnose database-related issues involving MySQL, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL.
• Manage and maintain virtualized environments based on VMware.
• Utilize configuration management and automation tools, primarily Ansible, to streamline operations.
• Handle infrastructure support tickets and operational tasks efficiently.
• Contribute to system upgrades, maintenance activities, and lifecycle management of platforms.
• Participate in infrastructure-related projects and collaborate with international colleagues during daily stand-ups.
• Join a shared on-call rotation with a team of six engineers, approximately one week per month.

Requirements

• Several years of experience administering Linux systems in production environments.
• Solid understanding of Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience working with Ansible or similar configuration management tools.
• Proven experience managing virtualized environments such as VMware.
• Ability to troubleshoot databases including MySQL, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL.
• Fluency in English, comfortable working within an international engineering team.

Nice to Have

• Experience in hosting, managed services, or infrastructure environments.
• Familiarity with medium-sized infrastructures (tens or hundreds of servers).
• Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading technical initiatives.
• German language skills are a plus.
