About the Role
We're hiring a Senior GenAI Engineer to join our innovative team at Trimble. This remote position allows you to be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and testing software applications that leverage Generative AI technologies. As a Senior GenAI Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in enhancing our logistics solutions, directly impacting the efficiency and safety of global freight movement.
What You'll Do
- Design scalable systems by translating complex product requirements into modular, cloud-native software designs using modern microservices principles.
- Modernize and evolve our platform by contributing to the continuous development of applications using Java, Kafka, Angular/React, and cloud-native best practices (AWS/Azure).
- Lead innovation by architecting and implementing Generative AI features that leverage Large Language Models (LLMs), RAG frameworks, and agent orchestration.
- Drive engineering excellence through mentoring junior engineers, conducting in-depth code reviews, and advocating for high-quality, testable, and maintainable source code.
- Bridge design and production by collaborating in cross-functional agile teams to launch production-ready applications that address real-world transportation challenges.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with expert-level Java skills and a solid background in frontend development (specifically Angular/React).
- Architectural expertise with deep knowledge of REST APIs, messaging frameworks (Kafka), and SQL/NoSQL database design.
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and expert-level Linux proficiency (Git, SSH).
- Proven experience in using LLMs for code development, debugging, and optimization, with a strong understanding of AI-driven feature architecture.
- A degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field (BE/BTech/ME/MTech or M.S.).
Nice to Have
- Experience with Databricks or Datadog for monitoring LLM performance.
- Prior experience in the transportation or logistics industry.
- Contributions to open-source projects.
