Senior Design Manager - Facilities (Remote Options Available)
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Design Manager - Facilities to lead and coordinate all design-related activities for our construction, installation, or relocation projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to transition from concept to construction while managing multiple complex projects. As a Senior Design Manager - Facilities remote, you will collaborate with architects, engineers, and internal stakeholders to shape design solutions and ensure technical integration.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design phase for multiple concurrent projects, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Define project scope and develop programming requirements while overseeing drawing reviews.
- Facilitate meetings with MEP teams to ensure design clarity and compliance.
- Serve as the primary contact for internal stakeholders and external vendors during the design phase.
- Collaborate with various divisions to support project planning and timelines.
- Manage design schedules and provide regular updates to the Facilities Leadership Team.
- Foster strong communication within the Facilities Team, leading meetings for timely design completion.
Requirements
- Licensed architect with a minimum of 6 years of experience in commercial, industrial, or institutional projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D modeling software (e.g., Revit, SketchUp).
- Strong skills in MS Office Suite.
- Familiarity with permitting processes and architectural code reviews.
- Knowledge of ADA, fire/life safety, and environmental regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience in risk management during the design phase.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
- Willingness to travel (minimum of 25%) domestically and internationally.
Nice to Have
- Authorized to stamp drawings in OH, MD, and MI.
- Experience with critical path scheduling methodologies.
- Familiarity with Service Now/Nuvolo and Procore platforms.
- Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement frameworks.
- Experience with BIM coordination and clash detection tools.
