Senior Design Manager - Facilities (Remote Options Available)

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Design Manager - Facilities to lead and coordinate all design-related activities for our construction, installation, or relocation projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to transition from concept to construction while managing multiple complex projects. As a Senior Design Manager - Facilities remote, you will collaborate with architects, engineers, and internal stakeholders to shape design solutions and ensure technical integration.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design phase for multiple concurrent projects, ensuring alignment with project goals.
• Define project scope and develop programming requirements while overseeing drawing reviews.
• Facilitate meetings with MEP teams to ensure design clarity and compliance.
• Serve as the primary contact for internal stakeholders and external vendors during the design phase.
• Collaborate with various divisions to support project planning and timelines.
• Manage design schedules and provide regular updates to the Facilities Leadership Team.
• Foster strong communication within the Facilities Team, leading meetings for timely design completion.

Requirements

• Licensed architect with a minimum of 6 years of experience in commercial, industrial, or institutional projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D modeling software (e.g., Revit, SketchUp).
• Strong skills in MS Office Suite.
• Familiarity with permitting processes and architectural code reviews.
• Knowledge of ADA, fire/life safety, and environmental regulations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and experience in risk management during the design phase.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
• Willingness to travel (minimum of 25%) domestically and internationally.

Nice to Have

• Authorized to stamp drawings in OH, MD, and MI.
• Experience with critical path scheduling methodologies.
• Familiarity with Service Now/Nuvolo and Procore platforms.
• Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement frameworks.
• Experience with BIM coordination and clash detection tools.
