About the Role

CommonLit is seeking a Remote Sales Development Representative to join our dedicated team. As a nonprofit education technology organization, we are committed to ensuring that all students, especially those in Title I schools, graduate with the essential skills they need for success. This Remote Sales Development Representative role is crucial in supporting our Sales Team and expanding our impact across the U.S. educational landscape.

What You'll Do

  • Support the Sales Team in achieving yearly bookings goals and enhancing CommonLit’s presence in U.S. schools.
  • Engage in early pipeline development and management, focusing on sourcing leads and researching new outreach opportunities.
  • Conduct direct outreach to potential leads via emails and phone calls, qualifying leads based on viability.
  • Perform lead research to understand school district contexts and state policies.
  • Analyze early pipeline trends and propose actionable insights to Sales Leadership.
  • Manage CRM systems, accurately logging activities in Salesforce, including lead processing and outreach notes.
  • Propose improvements to enhance efficiency in pipeline maintenance and development.
  • Collaborate with teammates on market research to support state-based strategies across sales and marketing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a K-12 classroom teacher or in a Sales Development Representative role.
  • Goal-oriented with a team-first mindset.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and capable of managing time effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Preferred: Experience with CRM tools like Hubspot or Salesforce.
  • Preferred: Experience in a customer-facing role.
