About the Role

We're hiring a Remote Principal Engineer to join our innovative team at Pulumi. In this role, you will help build an autonomous infrastructure engineering agent, known as Neo, that revolutionizes how cloud environments are managed. What You'll Do

  • Build the planning and execution systems that let Neo safely perform multi-step infrastructure operations across AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, and more.
  • Design tool interfaces that give the agent semantic understanding of cloud resources and access to engineering workflows.
  • Develop context systems that help Neo understand each customer's infrastructure patterns and usage.
  • Create feedback loops and self-correction mechanisms that enable autonomous operation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of Neo into existing workflows.
  • Contribute to the overall architecture and scalability of the Neo platform.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure-as-code principles and tools.
  • Experience with AI systems and their application in cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, or JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about complex systems.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with machine learning and AI frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
