Packaging Developer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are looking for a Packaging Developer remote to join our dynamic RDQ Packaging team at Nomad Foods. This role is crucial for implementing our Packaging Strategy, focusing on innovation, renovation, sustainability, and value creation. As a Packaging Developer, you will lead and manage complex packaging projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery.

What You'll Do

• Manage packaging technical projects across Supply Units (SUs) and Copackers, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to procedures.
• Represent RDQ packaging in cross-functional teams to deliver range extensions, renovations, and sustainability projects.
• Provide technical expertise to ensure packaging executions meet brand requirements and are profitable.
• Lead trials, including writing briefs and reports for various testing phases (Line, Packing, Transit).
• Generate accurate technical data and complete all packaging-related documentation, including specifications and BOMs.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturing teams.
• Monitor trial costs and implement post-trial testing programs to ensure project success.
• Encourage knowledge sharing and maintain compliance with packaging guidelines.

Requirements

• Relevant Science Degree (Food Science, Materials Science, Engineering) or 2+ years of experience in FMCG packaging development.
• Basic understanding of local packaging regulations and legal labeling.
• Diploma in Packaging Technology or equivalent is a strong advantage.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Proven project management skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Passion for packaging and willingness to travel as needed.

Nice to Have

• Experience with sustainability initiatives in packaging.
• Knowledge of packaging materials and supply chain processes.
• Familiarity with consumer research methodologies.
