Manager, Plant Accounting - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Manager, Plant Accounting to join our team remotely. In this role, you will supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain and record financial data. As a Manager, Plant Accounting, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate accounting and statistical records while applying principles of cost information.

What You'll Do

• Directly supervise a team of three employees in the accounting section, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
• Collect and analyze data to determine costs associated with business activities, including raw material purchases and labor variances.
• Prepare composite reports needed by management, such as weekly cash flow forecasts and monthly financial reports.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets for each cost center of the plant.
• Prepare monthly work-in-process (WIP) inventory and coordinate routine cycle counts.
• Assign duties and examine work for accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures.
• Standardize procedures to improve employee efficiency and maintain harmony among team members.
• Address complaints and resolve problems effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with 5-7 years of related experience.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in calculating figures and applying concepts such as basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and solve problems in standardized situations.
• Experience in supervising and training employees.
• Familiarity with accounting software and financial reporting tools.

Nice to Have

• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of cost accounting principles.
• Certification in accounting (CPA or CMA) is a plus.
