Manager Credit Risk - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Manager Credit Risk to join Ontario Power Generation (OPG) in a remote capacity. This role is pivotal in conducting advanced counterparty evaluations and managing financial risk while ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. As a Manager Credit Risk remote position, you will play a crucial role in shaping our credit risk strategies and operational effectiveness.

What You'll Do

• Conduct advanced counterparty evaluations to assess the financial strength and creditworthiness of counterparties.
• Perform complex credit analysis, interpreting credit metrics to provide robust risk assessments.
• Develop and implement credit risk models and exposure mitigation strategies for key business areas.
• Monitor and control credit exposures, ensuring compliance with approved limits.
• Deliver comprehensive credit reporting to ensure transparency and regulatory compliance.
• Support contract negotiations by providing expert credit risk analysis and recommendations.
• Lead trading collateral management processes, ensuring compliance with collateral requirements.
• Educate and advise business partners on credit risk and compliance.

Requirements

• 4 Year University Degree in Finance or a related field.
• A designation such as CFA, FRM, PRM, or an MBA.
• 10 years of progressive experience in credit analysis and financial risk assessment.
• Experience with credit modeling and trading contract support.
• Familiarity with North American natural gas and electricity markets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
• Project leadership experience.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with energy physical and financial transaction contracts.
• Knowledge of NAESBs, GasEDIs, EEIs, ISDAs, and Credit Support Annexes.
• Experience in leading cross-functional teams.
