Lead Solutions Architect - Shopify Ecosystem (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Solutions Architect - Shopify Ecosystem to join our team at Cloudinary. In this remote position, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of our Shopify ecosystem, ensuring that our solutions meet the needs of our customers and partners. As a key technical leader, you will have the opportunity to influence the development of our AssetLink Shopify app and drive its adoption across the Shopify platform.

What You'll Do

• Lead the technical ownership of Cloudinary’s AssetLink Shopify app, ensuring it meets Shopify-native standards for user experience and performance.
• Collaborate with Shopify partners and key ecosystem technology providers to align on roadmaps and integration patterns.
• Write production code and make architectural decisions that drive high-impact adoption of the AssetLink app.
• Conduct technical discovery and architecture workshops with strategic customers, agencies, and partner engineering teams.
• Translate ecosystem feedback into actionable requirements for Product and Engineering teams.
• Define the technical direction for Admin extensions, theme components, and workflow automation touchpoints.
• Produce reference architectures and implementation guides to facilitate faster time-to-value for customers.
• Help build and lead a team as the adoption of the AssetLink app grows.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience as a senior software engineer, architect, or technical leader with strong customer-facing experience.
• 7+ years of experience with JavaScript and Node.js, with deep familiarity in Shopify app development.
• Proven experience in building integrations or platform extensions that work reliably across multiple customer environments.
• Strong product instincts with the ability to turn external feedback into shippable scope.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel occasionally (typically under 10%) for partner and customer engagements.
