Forward Deployed Engineering Manager - Remote
About the Role
We are seeking a Forward Deployed Engineering Manager - Remote to join our innovative team at the Stellar Development Foundation (SDF). In this role, you will lead the Solutions Engineering function, enabling transformative enterprise partners to design, build, and operate production-grade integrations on the Stellar network. This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge blockchain technology and contribute to equitable access to the global financial system.
What You'll Do
- Own and continuously refine Stellar’s Solutions Engineering program, including engagement models, partner tiering, and escalation paths.
- Build, manage, mentor, and grow a team of Solutions Architects and Solutions Engineers.
- Lead end-to-end technical partner engagements, from early discovery and solution design through production launch and ongoing support.
- Serve as a senior technical escalation point for high-tiered partners, engaging directly when integrations require deeper architectural guidance.
- Provide hands-on architectural leadership, guiding system and integration design for complex use cases.
- Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to surface recurring partner needs and inform roadmap prioritization.
- Design and scale repeatable engagement models that allow the program to scale without sacrificing quality.
- Represent SDF in strategic partner conversations and deep technical reviews.
Requirements
- Significant experience leading customer-facing engineering or solutions teams, ideally in blockchain or fintech.
- A strong technical background that enables you to lead architectural discussions and evaluate system-level trade-offs.
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams, such as Solutions Architects or Partner Engineers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate between partner needs and technical constraints.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for partner engagements.
Nice to Have
- Experience with blockchain systems or financial market infrastructure.
- Experience designing or running certification or partner enablement programs.
