Field Service Technician - Fuel Cell Systems

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Technician to join our team at Plug Power. This Field Service Technician remote position involves supporting our fuel cell products currently installed in electric forklifts. You will be responsible for preventive maintenance and troubleshooting, ensuring our systems operate efficiently and effectively.

What You'll Do

• Perform maintenance and service on fuel cells at customer locations.
• Conduct diagnostics, troubleshooting, and evaluations to maintain fleet operations at specific sites.
• Execute specialized service procedures, including on-site retrofits and software/hardware upgrades for existing fuel cells.
• Provide on-call support and emergency assistance to customers as needed.
• Purchase tools, equipment, and parts for customer service and support as required.
• Communicate regularly with customer personnel and hydrogen suppliers regarding after-market support for fuel cells.
• Provide regular feedback to regional service managers regarding fuel cell performance and maintenance issues in the field.
• Complete administrative tasks and documentation, including incident reports, service logs, inventory maintenance, and site/system documentation.

Requirements

• Minimum of a completed education with an electrical background.
• Three (3) or more years of direct experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Formal training and education may be considered in lieu of direct experience.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to operate within legally defined physical demands.
• Knowledge of forklift operation and applications is highly advantageous.
• General mechanical skills are required.
• Computer and software system knowledge, including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.

• Experience in the CleanTech industry.
• Familiarity with fuel cell technology.
• Previous customer service experience.
