1Password is seeking a Director of Developer Relations - Remote to lead our Developer Relations function. What You'll Do

• Lead and define the Developer Relations team, ensuring alignment with company goals.
• Implement strategies that connect secure technologies with developer tools, enhancing user experience.
• Build and manage a high-performing team dedicated to developer engagement.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Security leadership to drive innovation.
• Drive developer tool adoption and success across various platforms.
• Oversee the creation of technical content and community engagement initiatives.
• Establish metrics for measuring the effectiveness of DevRel activities.
• Represent 1Password in the developer community, advocating for our technologies.
• Lead responses to community crises, ensuring a positive developer experience.
• Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the team and the broader community.

Requirements

• 8+ years in Developer Relations or similar roles, with a strong focus on community engagement.
• 5+ years managing teams and individual contributors, demonstrating leadership skills.
• Experience in building effective DevRel strategies that resonate with developers.
• Technical fluency in modern development workflows and tools.
• A passion for community safety and engagement, with a focus on security.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate complex ideas.
• Experience in security-focused developer communities, understanding their unique needs.
• Ability to facilitate complex community situations, ensuring positive outcomes.

Nice to Have

• Experience with open-source projects and community-driven initiatives.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity trends and challenges.
• Previous experience in a remote-first work environment.
