Data Engineer for Systematic Trading - Remote Opportunities

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Data Engineer for Systematic Trading to join our team at Tribus. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a top-tier global systematic trading firm, building a central data platform utilized by multiple live trading desks. As a Data Engineer remote, you will be at the forefront of data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and quantitative research.

What You'll Do

• Design and build lakehouse-style data platforms that support research, risk management, and live trading use cases.
• Develop Python-based data pipelines for both batch and streaming workloads.
• Utilize Spark for large-scale data processing and Kafka/Flink for real-time data ingestion and stream processing.
• Model and optimize data for high-concurrency analytical access (OLAP).
• Operate within a cloud-native AWS environment, focusing on performance, data quality, and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with quantitative analysts and traders to deliver production-grade data solutions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building robust data platforms in production environments.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with C++ or Rust is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with Spark and at least one streaming technology (Kafka and/or Flink).
• Comfortable working with infrastructure and cloud services.
• Autonomous and structured problem-solver who thrives in high-impact roles.
• Exposure to finance or trading is beneficial, but we welcome strong engineers from adjacent domains.

• Experience with data modeling and optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with data governance and compliance standards.
