Backend Engineer - AI/​ML Integration (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Backend Engineer to join our team at NeuronERP. This remote backend engineer position offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge AI/ML integrations and Oracle ERP systems. As a Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and building scalable backend services that power AI-driven workflows.

What You'll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs that integrate Oracle ERP, AI/ML models, and NeuronERP’s custom logic.
  • Implement product features and internal tools based on specifications and priorities set by the US Product Lead.
  • Own data flows between Oracle, NeuronERP backend, and AI/ML pipelines for modules such as AI Consultant, P2P, O2C, and analytics.
  • Define AI Agents/Assistants workflow, ensuring robust and secure services with appropriate logging and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with front-end engineers to define efficient, clean API contracts.
  • Work on performance optimization, scalability, and reliability for production workloads.
  • Write unit/integration tests and contribute to CI/CD workflows.
  • Participate in code reviews and help define backend engineering best practices for the India team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 2–5 years of backend engineering experience building production services, preferably in B2B SaaS or enterprise products.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and at least one web framework (e.g., FastAPI, Flask, or Django).
  • Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs; understanding of API versioning, authentication, and authorization.
  • Solid understanding of databases (e.g., PostgreSQL/MySQL) and data modeling; familiarity with ORMs or query builders.
  • Experience working in a cloud environment (AWS/GCP/Azure) and with common services (queues, object storage, etc.) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with containers and basic DevOps workflows (Docker, CI/CD pipelines) is a plus.
  • Ability to translate product requirements into technical designs and implementation plans.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Oracle or other ERP systems, AI/ML integrations, or working with large enterprise datasets.
