About the Role

As an AI Engineer, you will contribute to our Poe platform, which integrates cutting-edge AI language models to enhance user interaction and experience.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with a talented team of engineers on diverse AI engineering tasks, including prompt engineering and retrieval-augmented generation.
• Identify and implement new AI capabilities to improve various aspects of the Poe product.
• Take full ownership of applied AI systems, from prototyping to deployment at scale.
• Utilize your strong engineering background in Python or TypeScript to build reliable LLM applications.
• Engage in continuous learning and improvement, contributing to the team's growth and success.

Requirements

• A 2025 or Summer 2026 graduate pursuing a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and their mathematical foundations.
• Experience with LLM applications or transformer models.
• Availability for meetings during Quora’s coordination hours (Mon-Fri: 9am-3pm Pacific Time).
• A passion for learning and improving both personally and within the team.

Nice to Have

• Previous software engineering experience through internships or coding competitions.
• Hands-on experience with LLM and prompt engineering.
