Accounting Analyst - Remote Role at Kraken

About the Role

We are seeking an Accounting Analyst - Remote to join our Finance team at Kraken. As an Accounting Analyst, you will play a crucial role in managing our financial processes and ensuring accurate reporting. This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere in the European Union.

What You'll Do

• Support month-end close and reporting processes, focusing on digital asset reconciliations for corporate and custodial crypto.
• Interface daily with internal systems and our proprietary exchange platform to assist with fiat and digital asset position reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Manage accounts receivable module invoices, credits, and payment receipts applications to support revenue contracts.
• Ensure compliance with various regulatory environments and entities across the globe.
• Document processes and procedures to maintain proper controls and support internal and external audits.
• Collaborate with finance/accounting leaders and business partners to prepare reconciliations and related reports.
• Identify issues and trends by analyzing data against business drivers to improve reconciliation processes.

Requirements

• 3+ years of accounting/audit experience, preferably from Big 4 or national accounting firms.
• ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified Accountant or local equivalent.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and experience with SOX compliance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and H & V-Lookup.
• Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborative and innovative mindset, with strong relationship-building skills.
• Experience or knowledge of cryptocurrency and financial services is a plus.
• Experience with SQL and high-volume transactions is desirable.

Nice to Have

• Industry experience in crypto, financial services, fintech, broker-dealer, banking, or exchange.
• Interest or knowledge of cryptocurrency and its applications.
• Experience using Netsuite for financial management.
