Senior Data Scientist - Remote Opportunity with Relocation Support

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our team at TALPA Solutions. This remote position offers you the chance to work on real-world challenges while collaborating with a diverse team. You will take ownership of data science projects from start to finish, ensuring your solutions create measurable value for our customers.

What You'll Do

• Lead data science projects end-to-end, from problem framing and data exploration to modeling, deployment, and iteration in production.
• Design, develop, and deploy algorithms that turn raw machine data into actionable insights, including predictive maintenance and anomaly detection.
• Work with noisy, unlabelled, and heterogeneous data, applying techniques across time series, image, and text data.
• Collaborate closely with the Data Science team and across disciplines to discuss assumptions, trade-offs, and results.
• Engage regularly with engineers, domain experts, and customers to translate real-world needs into scalable data-driven solutions.
• Contribute to production-quality codebases and infrastructure, applying solid software engineering practices.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in developing and deploying ML models in industrial, commercial, or academic settings.
• Strong theoretical understanding of machine learning algorithms and statistical principles.
• Experience with multi-variate and multi-scale time series sensor data.
• Proven experience in all phases of ML model creation, from gathering requirements to model validation.
• Experience building deep learning models with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex technical problems to non-technical audiences.
• Willingness to work from the office in Essen Rüttenscheid once or twice per week (hybrid).

Nice to Have

• Experience with RAG systems, AI agents, and large language models.
• Published research papers in machine learning or artificial intelligence.
• Visible record of contributing to open-source projects.
