• Conduct market intelligence to monitor competitor landscapes and reimbursement trends.
• Utilize advanced financial modeling techniques to evaluate proposals and predict performance impacts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, legal, and operations to ensure alignment and execution.
• Mentor and guide a high-performing team responsible for contract execution and relationship management.
• Implement corrective actions based on performance metrics to enhance pharmacy network effectiveness.
• Foster long-term relationships with external pharmacy partners to support Optum’s growth agenda.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in pharmacy or healthcare contracting.
• Extensive experience in complex negotiations, particularly in the pharmacy sector.
• Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret pricing models.
• Proven ability to engage with senior leadership and external stakeholders effectively.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing a team of direct reports.
• Familiarity with large-scale agreements and multi-billion-dollar negotiations.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
