Community Marketing Manager - Remote
About the Role
We are seeking a talented Community Marketing Manager to join our team remotely. In this role, you will connect community strategy with real-world developer engagement, ensuring that our community thrives and contributes to our growth. As a Community Marketing Manager, you will keep meetups running, maintain an active Discord presence, and ensure that programs are executed efficiently and effectively.
What You'll Do
- Be on the ground: Spend 20% of your time traveling to meetups, conferences, and community events, managing logistics and execution independently.
- Run community programs end-to-end: Plan and execute community initiatives, including meetups, Discord programming, and Champion activities from kickoff through reporting.
- Maintain organized calendars and timelines to ensure programs ship on time and with consistent quality.
- Support both in-person and virtual meetups in key cities such as San Francisco, Austin, NYC, and London, handling venue sourcing, vendor coordination, swag fulfillment, RSVPs, and post-event reporting.
- Engage daily on Discord: Manage day-to-day Discord activities, including prompts, QOTDs, AMAs, moderation, and issue routing in partnership with our internal technical assistant team.
- Coordinate the Coder Champions Program: Manage swag, recognition, and logistics for the Champions program, tracking contributions, participation, and outcomes.
- Repurpose community stories: Transform meetup highlights, Champion wins, and community insights into blogs, newsletters, and social media posts.
- Measure community health: Track metrics across CommonRoom, Discord, HubSpot, and related systems to surface insights, trends, and growth opportunities.
Requirements
- 4–7 years of experience in community, marketing, or program management roles, ideally within developer, platform engineering, DevSecOps, open-source, or cloud-native ecosystems.
- Proven experience in planning and executing developer meetups, user groups, ambassador or MVP programs, or grassroots initiatives.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail across multiple workstreams.
- Experience with community tools (Discord, CommonRoom) and CRM/marketing systems (HubSpot, Asana).
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to track KPIs and communicate results, learnings, and recommendations effectively.
- Familiarity with open source or developer-led communities and an understanding of what drives engagement.
Nice to Have
- Experience with developer tools or platform engineering products.
- Event experience in major tech hubs such as San Francisco, Austin, NYC, or London.
- Experience supporting MVP, ambassador, or advocate programs.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary ranging from $99,000 to $151,000 per year.
- Remote work flexibility with the opportunity to travel for events.
- A collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Opportunities for professional growth and development.
- Access to cutting-edge AI tools and technologies.
- Health and wellness benefits.
This role offers a unique opportunity to connect with developer communities while working remotely. Coder provides an innovative environment with competitive compensation.
